Dead Dragon Heist

Everlasting Tales

DEAD DRAGON HEIST

Brave burglars have stolen invaluable jewels and gems from a relic within the Crimson Jewel’s Council, a temple dedicated to Sardior—a long-dead dragon deity.

Before the heist, the relic Draconic Crux Menhir had a series of gem devices resembling dragon body parts assembled on the menhir—a serpentine ruby dragon.

According to the temple's high priest, Jahmoh Rinem, each gem has five encrusted jewels—3 star rubies and 2 star sapphires containing recorded studies from specific areas of knowledge. She also shares that anyone other than herself who removes a device or its jewels from the menhir carries a curse until personally returning the stolen items to their rightful place. In addition, one day after the theft, all jewels transform into rock dice engraved with unusual runes, while the menhir and devices convert into pumice. Likewise, all rock dice and devices teleport to random locations, initially appearing in nearby areas within the theft’s epicenter, then gradually expanding to anywhere in the multiverse.

Jahmoh Rinem has been enlisting trustworthy adventuring companies, factions, religious organizations, and friendly thieves' guilds to track down and retrieve the stolen relic’s items throughout a series of wildspace's systems, causing a furor in Bral's streets.

Void Plague Decree

Everlasting Tales

VOID PLAGUE DECREE

Despite the concerns expressed by business folk, the Void Plague Decree enacted by Prince Andru two tendays ago at the Council of the City has proven effective, as the death rate in the Rock of Bral has halved during this period.

The Decree states that everyone arriving at the Rock of Bral must head to the Serpentine Bonfire Baths, where they will receive a bath token after one hour bathing. Citizens and visitors must present the token when requested by the watch. Those who do not carry it are arrested.

This contagious disease primarily targets humanoids and beasts, with fewer cases among aberrations and monstrosities. It spreads when creatures inhale air contaminated by respiratory droplets containing the plague. Additionally, contaminated droplets on objects or body surfaces can infect individuals if they are manipulated near the eyes, nose, or mouth.

Once it is a new kind of plague, there is no cure associated with it, other than natural recovery or casting the Lesser Restoration spell. Bathing, along with washing clothes and objects, seems to prevent infection by the plague.

Neogi Fleet Spotted

Everlasting Tales

NEOGI FLEET SPOTTED

A Neogi fleet has been spotted rallying forces in the Rings of Glyth. Should the Rock of Bral’s army remain vigilant for any signs of hostility?

According to Theris and Qiric—the merchants of the Bral Royal Consortium, the long-rumored pirate fleet wandering the Ring is, in fact, a Neogi fleet. Although both merchants failed to notice other activities within the fleet, they recognized a symbol emblazoned on all Neogi vessels. A quick search in the Nebulaefarers Inc.'s library revealed that it is a symbol used by a powerful slave merchant company.

The merchants also reported that the known illithid vessels that regularly scout the area were not spotted.

Hammerhead Found Adrift

Everlasting Tales

HAMMERHEAD FOUND ADRIFT

Asteroid farmers have found an undamaged merchant hammerhead adrift in the Tears of Selune. The crew was dead for two tendays at least, and the bizarre cargo was lost—humanoid's brains.

Celestian's priests had confirmed the crew died victims of the void plague, while the cargo was claimed by the Illithid Embassy as proof they don't prey on bralians' brains.

The customs office will hold the ship for washing, and then if no one claims it in five days, it will join the Bral's Navy.

The embassy informed, despite the void plague shortage, that another merchant ship will arrive in the next tenday, replacing the lost cargo.

Scarlet Crag Carnival

Everlasting Tales

SCARLET CRAG CARNIVAL

The greatest space funfair arrives in two days at the Rock of Bral, six months earlier than expected. Anyone visiting the Scarlet Crag Carnival—a dwarven citadel composed of space funfair attractions, must head to the baths upon returning to the Rock, as mandated by the Void Plague Decree. Three booths and balloons operated by autognomes and positioned at the Festival Grounds ferry guests in and out of the Crag.

The Crag arrives earlier this year with fewer attractions than in the last season. Rumor has it the earlier arrival is the Crag's desire—people believe the dwarven citadel is a sentient being, and everything it does has a purpose.

The Crag's political officer, Balila Scarletcrag, has sent us the carnival's daily schedule and shared the season's theme—monster hordes.

After getting tickets for the attractions, guests head to the house of costumes, choosing a monster costume set and a trinket to join a horde (dragon, fey, giant, undead, fiend, or celestial).

The day has three special events:

  • The Tripplets' Opera opens the day.

  • The Dragon's Feast marks the midday; all guests can have a meal and find trinkets within their kindori ribs.

  • Masters of the Multiverse closes the day by appointing the winning horde—those that have collected more prizes during the day earn a special gift.

There are six attractions available this season: Welcome to the Jungle, Protofighters’ Grand Prix, Shooting Stars, Planar Fishing, Haunted Cavern, and Magical Mystery Circus—since there are no tickets for this attraction, a horde group must present one prize from each of the other attractions to get access to the circus.

Bral Games Warm-up

Everlasting Tales

BRAL GAMES WARM-UP

Dalur Bloodbeard has been training rigorously with his team—the Bloody Hell Gladiators, determined to defeat the formidable Pumak “Pecs Bouncer” and his team—the Wildspace Berserkers. Both teams have already qualified for the games, and according to the category bracket, they will only face each other in the final at the Arena of Frun.

Once Bralians enjoy the gladiators' fight at the arena rather than other games, with the exception of the foodstuff field where people feast at will on participating businesses, the tickets for the teams' final are already SOLD OUT. Everyone expects and hopes to see Dalur challenging Pumak in a fight they are calling "the battle of the decade."

The Bral Games begins soon—five days after the Scarlet Crag Carnival departs. In the meantime, a series of qualifiers can be found throughout the city in many categories divided into three fields—sports, foodstuff, and tavern. Awards vary according to field and category—from an opportunity to join the army, navy, or magistrates’ watch to prizes in gold pieces and renown.
